Christine Brown's Pillowy Soft and Buttery Thanksgiving Rolls Are a Perfect Dinner Addition
Sister Wives star Christine Brown debuted the third installment of her TLC.com series Cooking With Just Christine and continued to show off her baking skills. She posted a video and recipe for pillowy soft, buttery Thanksgiving rolls, which are a perfect addition to any table. In this episode, Christine shared her kitchen with daughter Mykelti Padron. Together, they demonstrated just how easy it is to create this Brown family favorite that can also be used throughout the week for sandwiches.
Christine Brown’s Thanksgiving Rolls are good for any day of the year
Brown’s recipe for hot, fresh dinner rolls is a staple of the Browns’ Thanksgiving feast. For years, Christine shared this dish with husband Kody Brown and sister wives Janelle, Meri, and Robyn Brown.
However, they are good any time of the year as a vessel for sandwich fixings and slathered with butter as a dinnertime side.
Christine explained that while the Brown clan were residents of Las Vegas, she taught Mykelti and her sister Aspyn how to make this family favorite.
Mykelti shared how these rolls have become part of her Thanksgiving tradition with her husband Tony’s family.
“When Tony and I got married, I wanted to have Thanksgiving with his family,” Mykelti said.
“I wanted to do something that brought my family into his. I made Thanksgiving rolls, and they loved it. It gets requested every year now,” Mykelti explained.
How to make Christine Brown’s Thanksgiving rolls
The ingredients for Christine Brown’s Thanksgiving rolls include everyday kitchen staples.
The wet ingredients are salted butter, milk, warm water, and eggs.
The dry include yeast, sugar, salt, and flour.
The method is as follows: Melt butter in a saucepan, add milk to warm, and then, and mixture to cool.
Place warm water in a small bowl and sprinkle on yeast. Add sugar to activate the yeast. Stir and sit until yeast is activated and foamy, about 5 minutes.
Combine eggs, sugar, salt in a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment.
Add butter and milk to the dry ingredients, followed by the yeast mixture. Add flour slowly, one cut at a time, until smooth. The resulting dough should pull away from the bowl.
Once mixed, place the dough into a greased bowl and allow it to rise until doubled in size.
Dust your kitchen counter with flour. Divide dough in half and roll into a circle. Spread butter atop the rounds, fold the dough in half, and then half again. Roll out again.
Melt butter and pour it onto the dough. Then, cut into slices resembling a pizza before rolling each portion tightly into a crescent roll shape.
Place rolls into a cold oven. Then turn on to 375 degrees and bake until golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Other recipes featured by the ‘Sister Wives’ star include carrot cake and white lasagna
Thus far, Brown has featured two original recipes on her streaming series. These include carrot cake and white lasagna.
The Sister Wives star combines alfredo sauce, noodles, mushrooms, and spinach to create a cheese lover’s dream for her white lasagna recipe. Brown shared that not only does Mykelti’s husband love the dish, so does daughter Maddie’s husband, Caleb. The former television star claimed she always makes Alfredo sauce whenever Tony visits her home.
Brown’s carrot cake is rich with cinnamon and ginger and sweetened with pineapple and coconut.
